Twelve Apostles 56 km
Limestone stacks standing in the surf off Port Campbell National Park, carved from the cliffs by the Southern Ocean. There were never really twelve, and the waves keep wearing them down, but at sunset from the clifftop lookout they glow orange.

A war memorial in Kings Domain on St Kilda Road, built to honour Victorians who served in the First World War and now remembering all Australians who have served. At 11 o'clock on 11 November a ray of sunlight falls through the roof onto the word Love on the Stone of Remembrance.
Eureka Tower 151 km
A 297 metre residential tower in Southbank, completed in 2006, its top floors capped with gold-plated glass. The Skydeck near the summit looks out over the whole city, and a glass box slides out from the building over the street below.

Botanic gardens beside the Yarra, just south of the city centre, with sweeping lawns, lakes and plant collections from around the world. They are the Melbourne half of Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria, whose second site at Cranbourne is devoted to Australian plants.
