Befreiungshalle
A neoclassical monument on the Michelsberg hill above Kelheim, upstream of Regensburg on the Danube. It stands near the confluence of the Danube and the Altmühl. King Ludwig I of Bavaria had it built to honour the wars of liberation against Napoleon, and it opened in 1863.
