Maria Cristina Falls
A waterfall on the Agus River near Iligan, nearly 100 metres high and often called the twin falls because the flow splits in two. It powers hydroelectric plants that supply much of Mindanao, so the flow is partly controlled, and it is part of a protected area.

Mount Hibok-Hibok
An active volcano on Camiguin island, at about 1,332 metres, with a destructive eruption in 1951. Hot springs, cold springs and waterfalls lie on its lower slopes, and hikers can climb to the summit and a small crater lake.

Mount Kalatungan
A dormant volcano in Bukidnon, in central Mindanao, with a series of peaks and a protected forest of mossy trees. It is a challenging climb for experienced trekkers, with views over the Pulangi valley and across to the Kitanglad range.

Mount Kitanglad
An inactive volcano in Bukidnon and the centre of the Kitanglad Mountain Range natural park, rising to about 2,899 metres. The forest is home to the Philippine eagle, and local Talaandig and Higaonon people regard the mountain as sacred.

Sunken Cemetery
A submerged cemetery off Catarman on Camiguin island, which sank into the sea after the volcanic eruption of 1871. A large cross now marks the spot, and divers and snorkellers visit the old graves beneath the water.
