-
Paoay Church
Saint Augustine Parish Church in Ilocos Norte, finished in 1710 and built of coral stone and brick. Huge buttresses along its sides, partly Gothic and partly Asian in style, helped it withstand earthquakes. It is one of the four churches in the Baroque Churches UNESCO listing.

-
Santa Maria Church
A hilltop church in Ilocos Sur, completed in 1810 and reached by a wide stone staircase of 85 steps. Thick brick walls and massive buttresses give it the look of a fortress, and it was used as a lookout in times of attack. It is part of the Baroque Churches UNESCO listing.
-
Tubbataha Reefs
A remote group of coral atolls in the middle of the Sulu Sea, reached only by live aboard dive boats during the calm months of spring. It is a protected marine park and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, known for sharks, turtles and some of the richest reefs in the region.
-
Chocolate Hills
A field of at least 1,260 grass covered limestone mounds in the middle of Bohol. The hills turn brown in the dry season, which gives them their name. A viewing deck at Carmen climbs more than 200 steps to look over the rounded hills.
-
