Near Side
Manavgat Waterfall 7.8 km
A broad, low waterfall on the Manavgat River, 3 km north of Manavgat town and close to Side. The falls are not tall, but a great volume of water spreads across a wide shelf, and it is best seen from above.
Aspendos 27 km
An ancient Greco-Roman city 40 km east of Antalya, known above all for its Roman theatre, one of the best preserved anywhere. The stage building still stands to its full height, and the theatre is still used for performances.
Perge 52 km
The ruins of a Greek city of Pamphylia that later became a Roman provincial capital, 15 km east of Antalya. A long colonnaded street, a stadium and the towers of its Hellenistic gate still mark out the old town.
Düden Waterfalls 55 km
Two waterfalls on the Düden River on the edge of Antalya. The upper falls lie in a shaded park, while the lower falls pour straight off the cliffs into the Mediterranean, best seen from a boat.
Alanya Castle 60 km
A medieval castle on the rocky peninsula above Alanya, its walls winding down the cliffs to the sea. It was largely built under the Seljuk sultan Alaeddin Keykubad in the 13th century, and the views over both beaches are wide.
Kaleiçi 62 km
The old heart of Antalya, still enclosed by its ancient walls and running down to the old harbour. Narrow lanes of Ottoman houses lead past Hadrian's Gate, a Roman triple arch, to the boats moored below the cliffs.
Antalya Museum 64 km
One of Turkey's largest museums, with 13 exhibition halls and an open-air gallery telling the story of Pamphylia and the Mediterranean coast. Its marble statues from nearby Perge are the highlight for most visitors.
Phaselis 80 km
A Greek and Roman city on the Lycian coast, 16 km south of Kemer, between the Bey Mountains and the forests of Olympos National Park. Its ruins run through pine woods down to three small harbours, and many visitors arrive by yacht.
