Bodrum Castle
Built from 1402 by the Knights of St John as the Castle of St Peter, on a point between Bodrum's two harbours. Its English, French, German and Italian towers are named for the nations that built them, and it now holds a museum of underwater archaeology.

The ruins of a city of ancient Caria, a few kilometres west of Dalyan across the reedy river. Its theatre, baths and harbour sit below the cliffs where the town's famous temple-fronted rock tombs were carved high above the water.
